SPRING TIME IN MY GARDEN 5-4-15 – Using bulbs for high visual impact in the spring
BRIGHTENING THE FALL LANDSCAPE WITH MUMS

By late summer the home landscape often begins to look a bit tired. A quick way to perk up your fall landscape is to add potted mums in a variety of autumn colors, throughout your plant beds. Once the mums fade, the pots can be lifted and stored for use next year. These fun-looking orange pots are designed to look like pumpkins. I use dark green bamboo gardening stakes to anchor the pots to the ground. I poke the stakes through the holes in the bottom of each pot and through the center of the mum root ball to anchor the pots to the ground so that they don’t blow over during our gusty fall weather.
Hi! This is my first day with my new blog for my landscape architecture business. The learning curve is slow-going, but I will try to post photos of recent projects shortly. I have been busy beginning new design projects for clients for installation this spring, placing my order for spring plants for my clients’ spring containers, and preparing for numerous speaking engagments to Illinois garden clubs this winter and spring.
